Pathfinder Award Program
2023-2024 PAULDING EXEMPTED VILLAGE SCHOOLS

This year the Chamber wanted to do something to encourage the growth of leadership skills and kindness in the area youth. There are many ways that you can try to guide and encourage students, but Erica wanted to do something a little different. She reached out to Mrs. Brenda Doster, a 3rd grade teacher at Paulding Exempted Village Schools and together they came up with the Pathfinder Program. The criteria to earn this award are to show acts of kindness, demonstrate leadership skills, step outside his/her comfort zone, be kind to everyone, lead by example, etc. The student that is chosen will receive a certificate, get to pick a small prize from the treasure box, get their picture taken to post in the hallway, on the classroom Dojo page, and be submitted to the local newspapers.

Mrs. Doster will pilot the program for the 2023-2024 school year in hopes that next year the program can be expanded to include all 3rd grade classrooms in Paulding County. Erica and Brenda are also very appreciative for the support of MY102.7 in making this program a reality. This is a wonderful opportunity to help develop leadership skills in our youth!

Congratulations to all recipients of the Pathfinder Award.  At this point in the year each and every student has received the award. Which means we are going to change it up a little. Moving forward there will only be one student chosen each week from the whole 3rd grade. They will be awarded for acts of kindness, leadership, and personal growth.

We eagerly anticipate the continued success and character development of the outstanding students at Paulding Elementary.
